For the month of September, I'd like to donate 50% of all sales of mala bracelets from my store to the charities of the Global Mala, an incredible yoga event that will be going on across the world on the weekend of September 19th and 20th. Click on the picture to see more jewelry from my store or to purchase a mala bracelet.
On September 19 and 20, the Global Mala Yoga for Peace Project, whose purpose is to unite the global yoga community, will implement events throughout the world in honor of the United Nations International Day of Peace. Forming a “mala around the earth” through collective practices based upon the sacred cycle of 108, the mission of the Global Mala Project is to raise both funds and consciousness for some of the most pressing issues facing the world today. Global Mala Yoga for Peace is a featured event during National Yoga Month 09.2009.

I have been busy and away from blogging for a while. I hope everyone is planning a relaxing time this summer whether it is at home in the garden or somewhere peaceful and quiet.
I have been working on some new creations for my ETSY shop . . . . let me know what you think.
Peace, Grow & Be the Change.
Namaste.

Turn Peace Around is taking shape..... Here are some of the items I've already made to spread the message:
This plaque was sent to Andy and Marlene, whose website [TurnPeaceAround.org] inspired me in the first place.
This plaque will be on display when I am at shows, as a "conversation starter"... When people ask what it's about, it will be an open invitation for me to hand out my little flier and explain why we should be drawing the peace sign this direction.
To keep up with my Turn Peace Around project, be sure to follow my blog: Dragon's Breath

shanti mala bracelet from moondogtreasuresshanti is the sanskrit word for peace.
A Japa mala, or mala, is a set of prayer beads popular in India and Tibet, commonly made from 108 beads. It is used to keep count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra.
It is traditional of Tibetan Buddhism to recite mantras 108 times. Therefore malas have 108 beads, or are also made smaller but are divided into 108 to come up with 27 and 54 bead malas.
Each time you end a round, you reach the stop bead on top. That helps you keep track of how many times you have gone around.
